Route tips

  • Fügen - Geolsalm - Gartalm: Ride from the festival hall in Fügen via Pankrazbergstrasse to Hochfügen and continuing into the direction of Geolsalm and Gartalm. The way back leads via Arzjoch chapel to Kaunzalm. Through Öxltal the route leads into the direction of Fügenberg again and back to Fügen.
  • Single trails in Zell and Gerlos: The lines in Gerlos are suitable for beginners while also providing eventful variety for more experienced riders. The lines in Zell are for intermediates and experts only. North-Shore elements and pumps demand a good deal of skills.
  • Panoramic tour from Zell to Gerlos: The route leads almost exclusively through open pasture terrain and offers unobstructed views of the fantastic alpine world of the Zillertal Alps with their glaciers. The ride up on the cableway makes it easier.
  • Panoramic tour on Penken Action Mountain: After a comfortable ride up on the Penkenbahn gondola lift, the circular tour leads uphill to Penkenjoch Ridge. Ride to the right after alpine pastures and continue straight. You will get back to Penkenbahn again.
  • Höllensteinhütte - Grieralm: The tour starts in Tux-Lanersbach, at 1,300 m above sea level. First, follow the forest road. Soon, a mule track crosses the road. Follow this until you get a clear view of Junsberg, Madseitberg and Grübelspitze mountains on the other side. From Höllenstein hut continue into the direction of Grieralm. Then take the forest road back to Juns or all the way to Tux-Lanersbach.
  • Hintertux - Bichlalm- Tuxerjoch - Schmirn: This is an impressive, but in the upper part rather steep, demanding tour to one of the most scenic viewpoints in the Tux valley. From Hintertux to the Bichlalm head inwards the valley, cross Weitentalbach stream and ride through a wonderful larch forest uphill to the Sommerbergalm. From the Sommerbergalm a bike route leads to Tuxerjochhaus and all the way to Schmirn.
