Tour suggestions

  • Bicycle circuit: Fügen - Geolsalm - Gartalm - From the festival hall in Fügen via Pankrazbergstrasse, Hochfügener Road to the fork at Hochfügen/intermediate terminus and continuing in direction of Geolsalm and Gartalm. The way back leads via Arzjoch Chapel to Kaunzalm. Through Öxltal the route continues in direction of's Fügenberg again and back to Fügen.
  • Unforgettable high alpine road - An unforgettable experience! The Zillertaler High Alpine Road is one of the most scenic alpine roads in Austria. it offers every visitor a wonderful ride, gives impressions of the divine panorama of the Zillertal Alps, past farmed Alpine pastures to mountain inns and alpine huts. Ascent and descent possible via Ried, Kaltenbach, Aschau, Zellberg and Hippach.
  • Adventure on two wheels - The singletracks in Zell and Gerlos offer all adventurous bikers fun of the highest order. The routes are suitable for beginners while also providing eventful variety for more experienced riders. Numerous switchbacks, North-Shore elements and pumps demand a good deal of skills.
  • Unobstructed views for all bikers - The panoramic tour from Zell to Gerlos is a true highlight. The trail leads almost exclusively through open pasture terrain and offers unobstructed views of the fantastic alpine world of the Zillertal Alps with their glaciers. The ride up on the mountain cableway allows access also for the not so fit.
  • Bike & Hike as a summit-hit - Cycling by bike to the starting point for a hut or summit tour is getting more and more popular. Cycle along the Schlegeisspeicher reservoir, and before the Seewurzel you'll find a bike parking lot. park your bike securely, lock it and off you go to lofty heights!
  • Panoramic-Biketour on Penken Action Mountain - After a comfortable ride up on the Penkenbahn gondola lift, the circular tour starts at the upper terminus and leads uphill to Penkenjoch Ridge. Past the alpine pastures to the right and straight across the turn-off, it's back to the upper terminus of the Penkenbahn again.
  • Scenic tour: Höllensteinhütte Lodge - Grieralm Lodge - The start is in Tux-Lanersbach, at 1,300 m above sea level. First, follow the forest road. Soon, a mule track crosses the road. Follow this until you get a clear view of Junsberg, Madseitberg and Grübelspitze mountains on the other side. From Höllensteinhütte Lodge continue in direction of Grieralm Lodge - and along the forest road back to Juns or all the way to Tux-Lanersbach.
  • Hintertux - Bichlalm- Tuxerjoch - Schmirn - Impressive, but in the upper part rather steep, demanding tour to one of the most scenic viewpoints in Tux Valley. From Hintertux to the Bichlalm snack-bar, heading into the valley, crossing Weitentalbach stream and through wonderful larch forest uphill to the Sommerbergalm. From the Sommerbergalm a bike route leads on to Tuxerjochhaus Lodge and via the newly constructed MTB-route all the way to Schmirn. Tip: Use the gondola for the way up to the Sommerbergalm!
