  • To the source of summer joy - Water fresh from the spring from the idyllic Durlaßboden reservoir, which heats up to a pleasant 21 degrees Celsius in the summer months, making it a summer highlight. In the mood for swimming, pedalo rides, stand-up paddling or surfing? You can do all of them! Meanwhile, discover relaxation on the lounger area by the lake, which has a play and barbecue area.
  • Spectacular Alpine roller-coaster - The Arena Coaster in Zell am Ziller doesn't just inspire kids! Fun, action and speed are guaranteed on the Alpine roller coaster. The 1450 metre rollercoaster is a year-round attraction for all ages, with its waves, banked turns and jumps. A 360° loop and a 540° loop provide pure adrenaline. And right next to it, a big adventure playground completes the range available.
  • Birds of prey within touching distance in the Adlerbühne Ahorn - From mid-June until October eagles, buzzards and eagle owls show off their majestic elegance to those visiting the highest bird of prey station in Europe, with the breath-taking Zillertal Alps in the background. During a guided tour to see the birds of prey, visitors get to experience the 'kings of the sky' right up close, as they swoop just a few centimetres above their heads.
  • Within touching distance of ibex - In the 'Steinbock Welten' behind Bärenbadalm in Zillergrund, you not only get to discover interesting information about these fascinating animals, you even get to see real ibex. Afterwards there is a hike to Little Tibet - a mysterious place in the middle of the Zillertal mountains!
  • Relax in Therme Fügen - Therme Fügen is spot on for anyone who wants to relax and unwind. From the 'Blubbergrotte', to the waterfall and the salt water pool, sauna and steam bath, you will find everything here. Of course activities are available too - the 133 metre water slide - the longest in the west of Austria - is just one example!
  • Swimming fun on Lake Schlitterer - Right at the entrance to Zillertal is Schlitterer swimming lake. This superb facility, with its large, well-tended lounger area, jetties, park-like vegetation and small lake, which has a lovely water temperature, makes you want to just dive right into swimming fun.
  • Natur Eis Palace 35 metres beneath the ski pistes - The Natur Eis Palace on the Hintertux Glacier is a unique natural gem and an excursion destination for all the family. During a guided tour visitors get to explore the walk-in glacier crevasse, which has sparkling ice crystals and frozen waterfalls and head out on a boat tour on the glacier lake. There is also stand-up paddling and kayaking!
  • Fun for children on what is probably the highest playground in Europe - The Gletscherfloh Park on the Hintertux Glacier at 3250 metres altitude sets the hearts of the smallest glacier visitors aflutter every year from July. Organise a snowball fight in the middle of summer, or speed down the piste on snow tyres - where else do you get that? Presumably only here in Zillertal!

Inspiration for families and children

  • Big adventures at Almspielerei - the Eggalmbahn goes direct to the new children's highlight: Almspielerei, where there is a big pond area to discover by tug boat and play raft. Particularly dare-devil adventures can venture to the other bank via the slackline, about nine metres in length. There are lots of other attractions featuring water, and many Alpine animals made from wood mean there is a huge amount of fun in store. Parents get to enjoy the fantastic mountain panorama on numerous relaxing sun loungers or on the sun terrace in the mountain guesthouse.
  • Plenty of adventure in Pepis Kinderland - the highlight of the children's paradise on the Penkenjoch, with air cushions, sand pit play area and much more, can be seen from quite a distance - the eight metre high bear made from wood - Penkenpepi - has a superb play area inside, spanning three levels. Two big towers, mesh suspension bridges and two pipe slides promise pure thrills! In the new low ropes course, children and adults alike can demonstrate their climbing skills safely.
  • Climbing, sliding and pottering about in the Spruce Castle - In the Spruce Castle on the Rosenalm in Zell am Ziller little ones get to let off steam while climbing on the climbing tower or pottering about in the crane tower. Along with the extensive water play area and adventure playground, little builders will find plenty of opportunities to continue the work of the forest imps in the 'Fichtenwichtelbauhütte' and in the crane tower. New: Fichtensee at Rosenalm.
  • The fascinating realm of wooden ball runs - A new kind of fun for all the family! At the mountain station for the Isskogelbahn in Gerlos, two wooden ball runs, some 150 metres in length, have been constructed. Little ones are fascinated following the wooden balls here, as they make their way to the end via funnels, spirals, wavy sections and a labyrinth. And those who need a bit more running about can do just that in the nearby adventure-packed climbing route.
  • So close to nature at Ahornsee and Ahornbachl - Around visitors of all ages will find so many opportunities to play, rest and pause for thought. The play zones also provide fun and entertainment, while then there are the water oases along the leisurely hiking path on the Ahornbachl.
  • Huge fun in the Fun Zone - everything children love is within walking distance in Mayrhofen. From the water-nature playground 'Brindlang' to the Scheulingwald children's play area, MTown Bowl Skatepark and he mini-golf course. With so much fun, excitement and games on offer, cooling off in the adventure pool in Mayrhofen is just the ticket.
